Trametes multicolored (“turkey tail”) is one of the most famous medicinal tinder, especially loved by Paul Steimets. This is a mushroom with great potential, standing somewhere in the middle between reishi and chaga in its properties. The range of applications of multi-colored tinder is extremely wide. Trametes (tinder) multicolored (Trametes versicolor) powder of fruit bodies
For the preparation of activated (frozen) fine powder, fruit bodies of flat tinder (Trametes versicolor) collected in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic were used. Mushrooms are dried at a temperature of 30-35 ° C, which ensures complete preservation of pharmacological qualities. The drug contains a full range of components: polysaccharides, ergosterol, triterpenoids, melanins and other bioactive substances that provide maximum support for most body functions and a sustained therapeutic effect.
The course of trametes multicolored consists of 60 capsules of 0.1 g of fine powder in each. The course is designed for one month, capsules should be taken two a day at any time. The course can be carried out for life as a therapeutic or preventive. The contents of the capsules can be poured out and mixed with any dish or drink. For a pronounced therapeutic effect, the intensity of the course can be increased by taking three capsules a day. A break between courses is not required. It does not conflict with other mushrooms and medicines.

Pharmacological and medical properties
In general, the mushroom has a beneficial effect on the immune system. It stands out among fungi as a producer of various biologically active substances and antibiotics that affect even viruses, including the AIDS virus. From various strains of trametes multicolored in Japan, the drug “Krestin” (Krestin) is obtained, in other countries its analogues (in China — PSP and IPPV, in the Southern Crust — Copolang) have antitumor effect in the treatment of various forms of cancer.
Krestin (in the scientific literature – PSK, Polysaccharide-K), the active principle of which is immunomodulating protein-containing polysaccharides extracted from the mycelial mass of this fungus and other polysaccharide preparations from trametes multicolored have until recently been widely used in oncology in the treatment of cancer of the stomach, esophagus, rectum, ovaries, uterus and cervical, prostate, bladder, acute leukemia, most often in combination with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, as well as with conventional and cryosurgery in the postoperative period and as a means of maintenance therapy. The drugs really regulate the work of the immune system, enhance cellular immunity, restore the immune response lowered in cancer patients, have antiviral and antibacterial effects, increase the effectiveness of anti-cancer drugs, contribute to detoxification of the body, have antimetastatic activity, reduce hematological suppression caused by antitumor drugs. Nevertheless, large-scale clinical studies in recent years have shown that the effect of drugs based on the christening is not at all so comprehensive and unambiguous. When used in combination with some chemotherapy regimens (and only with them, but not independently) PSK can indeed benefit patients after surgical removal of stomach cancer and colorectal cancer, but the results of long-term clinical trials in patients with breast cancer, leukemia and liver cancer do not always remain convincing.
The effectiveness of the christening is unequivocally confirmed in liver diseases of various etiologies. Extracts of multicolored tinder have hypolipidemic, anti-atherogenic activity, regulate the formation of prostaglandins. The drugs are effective in oral form, non-toxic and suitable for long-term use.
When using whole mushrooms at home, the normal daily dose is 3-5 g of roughly crushed fruit bodies. When using pre-processed fine powder, 0.1-0.3 g per day is sufficient.

In Russian folk medicine, the mushroom is traditionally used to treat inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, urinary and digestive tract, chronic hepatitis B, as well as malignant tumors of the stomach and liver.
