Psychoactive mushrooms of the Russian Federation. A set of postcards in a dust jacket (24 postcards, Russian/English).

Categories: КНИГИ

6000

Psychoactive mushrooms are a large heterogeneous group, widespread on all continents except Antarctica. Humanity has encountered them since ancient times, back in its cradle — Africa, where it used them for conducting primitive rituals as entheogens and psychostimulants. Nowadays, over the past 70 years, more than 200 types of psychoactive mushrooms have been identified. In the 1960s and 1970s, their use spread first in America, and then moved to Europe and became widespread. At the end of the XX — beginning of the XXI century, among people who use natural entheogens and psychedelics, the use of mushrooms of the genus Psilocybe confidently displaces other psychedelics around the world, although red fly agaric has recently become very popular.
The influence of entheogenic fungi on the history and culture of mankind is difficult to overestimate. Most of the African religions and beliefs date back to the practice of using hallucinogenic mushrooms and stimulant mushrooms. According to modern data, the ancient fly agaric cult gave birth to the entire European branch of the Abrahamic religions and formed the basis of the cosmogony of the peoples of Northern Asia and northern North America. Along with hallucinogenic plants and animals, mushrooms have had a tremendous impact on the history and culture of mankind.
There are more than 30 types of psychoactive mushrooms on the territory of Russia. Traditionally, the most commonly used of them are red fly agaric and psilocybe semi-lanceolate. At the same time, the collection, distribution and cultivation of all types of mushrooms containing psilocybin and its analogues are prohibited in the Russian Federation.

The set of postcards is dedicated to this interesting group of mushrooms and includes a bilingual description of 24 species, accompanied by a professional artistic illustration.
